Having a child doesn't mean you have to change your entire life--but chances are, you will on some level. There's nowhere this is more apparent than in your home, where formerly innocuous-looking rooms and decorations are now seen with the keen eyes of a new parent as potential baby hazards. And it's not just in obvious places, like the kitchen and the garage, where your child will likely not be spending very much time.
One of the best steps in baby-proofing your home is making sure that there's nothing at baby-level that could possibly cause trouble. Do you have heavy lamps plugged in that are perched on side tables? Make sure to not leave the cord dangling anywhere small hands could grab it and pull the lamp down.
